It seems that pick-up trucks are very popular and sales have gone up 30% from last year. There are many things that make a pick-up so appealing and there are quite a few to choose from; they have a certain look that encourages one to forget about the paved road ahead and go towards the woods to see what it can do. It is this feeling that they give, a feeling that makes you think you can drive anywhere and have lots of fun doing it.

There is a new kid on the block and this cool truck will surely turn some heads. It is the Volkswagen Amarok and although is meant to offer comfort and class, it can also get dirty and offer some amazing off-road experience. Of course, pick-up trucks have changed over the last couple of years and it is no longer enough for one to be able to drive on sand, it also has to be luxurious with an interior that would make you think twice about any beverage container.

The Amarok ranks very well in the luxury category and the interior has a very nice feel with high quality materials and it even has heated seats and parking sensors. Of course, luxury may be an important factor but it is not the essential one when it comes to modern pick-up trucks. They also have to be very practical and here is where the Amarok stands out once again; it has widest load bed in the group and it is able to carry a payload of a 1001 kg.

So, the Volkswagen Amarok seems to be perfect; it looks cool, it has a luxurious interior, it can be very practical and it is also green. While other trucks are a risk for the environment, the Amarok emits less than 200 g/km CO2 which makes it the only pick-up truck capable of such green performance. As we all know, green is cool and this truck is one of the coolest choices available right now. Not only is it capable of going seriously off-road but it is also refined when going on regular roads.

The Audi R8 V10 was one of the coolest cars to hit the roads a couple years ago because not only was it an amazing supercar but it was also quite a good day-to-day car. Unlike most supercars, the Audi R8 is practical, it has a nice interior, it is comfortable, it is spacious, it is quiet and most importantly, you can actually see out the back window. This eliminates all the drawbacks that modern supercars have without making it seem like it doest belong in this group. Once you open the taps a little bit, you will soon see why the R8 is unlike any other Audi. It can do 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds and it will reach a top speed of a 190 mph.

It is lovely then, but the R8 is old news and it seems that every cool car nowadays has no roof. This means that Audi needed to come up with a new design to their only supercar and try to improve the already great R8.

In comes the Audi R8 Spyder, one of the coolest cars money can buy and yes, it is a convertible which means that the symphony the engines makes is even clearer and louder. As it is with every convertible, there are some issues which relate to the stiffness of the car; when the top is missing, the difference in weight between the heavy back engine and the front suspension system is held together by just the floor. This usually means that the convertible version is not as fast or as good around the corners as the regular model. Audi eliminated this problem by fitting straightening bars but this means a plus of 100 kg. The extra weight can’t really be felt and the Spyder is a joy on the track and a beauty in the parking lot.

Having the top down during the summer is always a nice look but if you add some Audi style with this image, the result is perfect and it is the R8 Spyder.

It’s hard to look that the Bugatti Veyron as a regular car. It’s true that it has four wheels, doors and pretty much everything you would expect from a car and it is not that it lacks something that makes it so special, but the many features it has extra. Every part is meant to withstand extreme conditions but also be as light as possible and it needs to be able to handle a huge amount of horsepower for a long time. This makes every component of the Bugatti Veyron, a work of art and when everything is put together perfectly, the result is a masterpiece.

The looks are amazing with every inch is made for perfect aeronautical speeds because earning the title of the fastest production car in the world is not easy. This achievement is mostly thanks to the engine which is basically formed by sticking two Audi V8 engines into one and making it a W16. This huge beast needs 10 radiators just to keep it cool and guarantee that everything runs smoothly. The incredible part is that even with this perfect engine, they weren’t able to reach the top speed they were targeting and with no more means to get more horsepower, everything was left to the aerodynamics. This meant for some crucial changes that would allow it to be used as a regular car on public roads but also reach incredible top speeds. To make it ready, you need to insert a special key into a slot; this makes the whole car lower, the rear spoiler disappears and the diffuser flaps close.

The Bugatti Veyron is a point where extreme numbers meet. It costs one million pounds and it has 1001 horsepower which allows it to reach 252 mph. This sets it apart from any other and makes the Veyron belong to a whole different group. At top speed, the tires can only last 15 minutes, which isn’t really an issue if we consider that a full tank of fuel is gone in 12 minutes. A remarkable thing about this car is that even at its top speed, it doesn’t feel like it is about to lose some valuable parts, it is stable and cool without even twitching.
